| What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is simply a focused
state of mind. A person in hypnosis experiences a deep state of
mental and physical relaxation.
Will I lose control?
Absolutely not! You will hear everything the hypnotist says and
all sounds in the room. If there were a fire in the room you would
stand up and walk out just like someone who wasn't hypnotized.
The hypnotist can not force you to do something criminal or contrary
to your moral judgment.
Can everyone be hypnotized?
Yes! All it takes is the desire to be hypnotized and your willingness
to cooperate with the hypnotist. You can't be hypnotized against
your will. If you come up on stage to prove that the hypnotist
can't hypnotize you - you will win. You would be wasting your
time and also taking the opportunity from someone who really did
want to experience a deep relaxation.

How does a show work?
The hypnotist will give a brief introduction and then invites
volunteers up on stage. The hypnotist will complete an induction
to place the volunteers into hypnosis. And that's when the fun
starts! The hypnotist will then give suggestions to the volunteers
and the volunteers will perform various skits to the delight of
the audience.
What happens if one of the volunteers doesn't go into
hypnosis?
No big deal! It doesn't mean that the person can't be hypnotized.
It simply means that on that particular occasion they were not
able to concentrate to the necessary. It means that that for that
particular show they would have a better time in the audience
than up on stage. |
What if I don't wake up?
It's never happened and it never will! The hypnotist will hypnotize
you with the sound of his voice and he will bring you out the
same way. A few minutes without the sound of the hypnotist voice
and you would be fully awake or you would move into a natural
sleep and wake in a few minutes.
Can hypnosis be used for things other than entertainment?
Yes! Many people have successfully stopped smoking, lost weight
or reduced the effect of stress in their life. Hypnosis can be
used for many theraputic purposes. Contact your local hypnotherapist
for additional information. You can usually locate one in the
Yellow Pages.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes. Remember hypnosis is just a state of relaxation. There is
no medical evidence that hypnosis will cause physical or psychological
harm. Most people go in and out of hypnosis every day of week.
A common example is driving right past your exit on the highway
while your mind is occupied on something else.
